What happens when you stop managing the journey and start living it.
An earlier version of me thought solo travel was something other people did. Braver people. But when I decided to travel beyond my comfort zone, I learned so much more about myself than I ever expected.
These are my thoughts from the road. What happens when you stop filling the space and something else moves in. Strangers who become part of the story. Moments that ask you to trust yourself. Small acts of kindness from people whose names you never learn.

Church Bells in Vienna
I was about to call an Uber when my intuition told me to walk. A red brick church nestled quietly in the middle of the block stopped me completely. And then the bells started ringing. Vienna introducing herself in the best possible way.
The Run
The streets are completely empty. Everything that had been crowded and loud the afternoon before is bare. Just me and the cobblestones and the early morning light. I ran 4 miles all the way to the castle. No one near it. The view was mine.
Hello Flutters Finds Prague
I see a small bookstore tucked between the shops. Something tells me to reach into my bag. My book now lives in a bookstore in Old Town Prague. And a fellow Filipina in the next shop over is already planning to share it with her teacher friends.
I Surprised Him, Then I Let Him Go
I surprised him. Then I let him go. I wanted to be there for the concert. And I was. But I also wanted him to have this experience to himself. A mother knows that helping them grow is often by letting go.

The Decision
I was booked for Budapest. The night before I left, something shifted. Not a thought. A knowing. What followed was eighteen hours of chaos, four flights, and the most right decision I have ever made on a trip.
Befriending your fear is where healing begins.
