3 Tips to Help You Navigate the Holiday Stress!
Winter Solstice is a time for Reflection and Gratitude
I know it's been a minute—
First, I want to say thank you for being part of my journey. This year has been a season of growth and hard work for me. I completed my doctorate program (a huge milestone!), worked on getting my research; the G.R.A.C.E. Matrix® out into the world, and—what I’m most excited about—launching my very first children’s picture book!
I’ll share more soon, but for now, I just wanted to reconnect, express my gratitude, and let you know about this special new project.
So today I thought I'd share the top 3 things I do that help me navigate the holiday stress..because sharing is caring :)
Top 3 Mindfulness Tips to Survive Holiday Stress
1. Pause Before You Say “Yes”
The holidays often bring endless invitations, commitments, and to-do lists. Before automatically saying “yes” to something, take a mindful pause. Ask yourself, Does this align with my priorities? Will it add joy or overwhelm? Giving yourself permission to say “no” when needed can protect your energy and ensure you’re fully present for the things that truly matter.
2. Create Small Moments of Stillness
Even five minutes of quiet can make a huge difference in managing holiday chaos. Try this:
* Find a calm spot, close your eyes, and take three deep breaths.
* Focus on the sensation of your breath entering and leaving your body.
* Allow yourself to simply be without worrying about the next task.
This brief reset can help you approach the day with clarity and patience.
3. Prioritize Connection Over Perfection
Remember, your kids and loved ones won’t remember how perfectly wrapped the gifts were or whether the cookies looked Pinterest-worthy. They’ll remember the laughter, warmth, and time spent together. Let go of the pressure to make everything “perfect” and instead focus on being present in those small, joyful moments.
Bonus Reminder: You’re doing enough, and you are enough. The holidays don’t need to be perfect to be meaningful. 💛
Thank you for being part of my journey, whether in the past or moving forward into this new chapter.
Wishing you warmth and light this Winter Solstice!
